Dear Members and Guests,
The British Association de Menton would like to welcome you, our members and all guests, to our annual celebration on 14. JUNE the Official Birthday of His Majesty King Charles III at the Palais de l’Europe, Avenue Boyer, Menton,12 midday Saturday 14. JUNE
ORDER OF EVENTS
· Upon arrival, you will be served a strawberry summer wine cocktail, or an alcohol-free pineapple passion fruit cocktail.
· To complement the cocktails, a variety of “mise en bouche” appetisers will be served as you mingle.
· Singer-musician Penny, will play the flute.
· At exactly 12:20 pm I will need to introduce our VIP guests, as the Capitaine hon. of the Gendarmerie, can only stay a short while, due to another appointment.
· After introduction, we sing the Marseillaise followed by God Save the King. Sheets with the texts of both will be distributed to you. There should be no further speeches.
· Your table number and the names of those seated at your table will be available on a display board.
· Starters will be served from the buffet and include poached salmon, sliced roast beef, various salads and a selection of “petits farcis”.
· Singer-musician Ryan, will entertain you with some soft ballads.
· Red wine will be open and at your table. White wine or rose will be served as you take your seat.
· You will have a choice of fish and lamb. The choice will be yours. You can choose fish, followed by lamb, or two fish, or two lamb, depending how hungry you may be.
· Penny will sing for you, as you sit back and relax.
· A special dessert, tribute to His Majesty King Charles III, will arrive with drum roll and flares. A glass of prosecco or two will be served at your table. We will raise a glass to salute the king on the occasion of his official birthday.
· Penny and Ryan will sing together and you, hopefully, will be on the dance floor.
· Coffee will be available from the buffet
· At 15:30 we announce the raffle prizes. Raffle tickets will be available to buy on 11. June at coffee morning, or on the day, from Jessica, Charlie and Helene.
· 4pm A few words of thanks and farewell.

Our working account with BNP covers all payments we make and all subscriptions we receive. That is why we appreciate members paying their subscription when due and not at some later stage during the year.

SATURDAY 29. MARCH the St John’s KERMESS 10am to 4pm, featuring the Great Marmelade Contest. Not to be missed!!
This is a new venture, which will, hopefully, remain our winter venue. It’s close to the “Restaurant des Artistes” on the seafront.
I’ve booked the room to the left of the entrance.

Corsican charcuterie and cheese. I hope this venue will work.
The Orangeraie, unfortunately, is closed until next year.
